Pine Dove Farm – Tallahassee’s first and only Planned Agricultural Community – has appointed Jonathan Tilley to be its new farm manager, allowing him to take the lead in creating systems of conservation practices and sustainable farming within the community.
Prior to taking this position, Tilley, along with his wife and two sons, lived just north of Seattle, Washington. In Washington, Tilley worked at a large nursery as a department supervisor and special project coordinator.
Tilley was born and raised around the farming lifestyle. He grew up in a farming family and focused on farming at Oregon State University by pursuing an individualized, specialty option as a natural resource specialist.
Tilley is excited about this new opportunity and has a lot of great ideas for Pine Dove Farm, he plans on implementing at different stages during the farm’s evolution. Some of his concepts include, a community market, composting program, community events, a CSA program, a coffee stand for the morning commute, a box lunch program and crafting workshops.
Pine Dove Farm welcomes Jonathan and his family to Tallahassee and the community! He brings years of experience in the industry, and we are so excited to have him on-board. We can’t wait to see what he does for our agrihood!
